Traveling to Hotel El Montico, Tordesillas

The conference venue is Hotel El Montico, located just outside Tordesillas, on the road between Valladolid and Tordesillas. The hotel can be reached either via Valladolid, which is the closest city, or via Madrid, which has the largest international airport.

In general, the easiest routes are:

Valladolid is well connected by train and long-distance bus with Madrid and with other major Spanish cities. For this reason, traveling via Valladolid is often the most convenient option, especially if the direct Madrid–Tordesillas bus timetable does not match your flight arrival time.

1. Landing at Valladolid Airport

Valladolid Airport is the closest airport to Tordesillas and Hotel El Montico. It is a small airport, so please check available flights carefully when planning your trip.

Valladolid Airport to Hotel El Montico by taxi

The simplest option is to take a taxi directly from Valladolid Airport to Hotel El Montico. The expected fare is approximately 48 EUR on ordinary fare and around 62 EUR on weekends or holidays.

Valladolid Airport to Valladolid city by bus

Valladolid Airport is connected with Valladolid city by the Linecar airport bus. The bus goes to Valladolid Bus Station and also serves other important stops in the city, including the railway station area. The journey takes around 30 minutes.

From Valladolid city, you can continue to Hotel El Montico either by taxi or by the Valladolid–Tordesillas bus line operated by La Regional.

2. From Valladolid to Hotel El Montico

Hotel El Montico is located between Valladolid and Tordesillas. Some buses on the Valladolid–Tordesillas line stop at El Montico. This is useful both for participants arriving in Valladolid and for participants staying in Tordesillas who wish to reach the hotel without taking a taxi every day.

By bus: Valladolid → El Montico

The Valladolid–Tordesillas bus line is operated by La Regional. The journey from Valladolid to El Montico takes approximately 25–30 minutes.

By taxi: Valladolid → Hotel El Montico

A taxi from Valladolid to Hotel El Montico takes around 25–30 minutes and costs approximately 38–40 EUR.

3. Landing at Madrid Airport

Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport is Spain's main international airport, with many international and domestic connections.

From Madrid Airport, there are two main ways to reach Hotel El Montico:

Recommended route: Madrid Airport → Valladolid → Hotel El Montico

This is often the most convenient route, because Madrid–Valladolid connections are much more frequent than direct Madrid–Tordesillas buses.

Madrid to Valladolid by train

The train from Madrid to Valladolid is usually the fastest option. High-speed and long-distance trains connect Madrid Chamartín-Clara Campoamor station with Valladolid Campo Grande station, with a travel time of approximately one hour on the fastest services.

To reach Madrid Chamartín from the airport, you can use the Madrid metro, Cercanías train, taxi, or airport transport services. Please allow enough time for the transfer inside Madrid.

Madrid Airport to Valladolid by bus

ALSA operates buses from Madrid Airport, Terminal 4, directly to Valladolid Bus Station. This can be very convenient if you prefer not to transfer through Madrid city. The journey usually takes around 2 h 15 min to 3 h 15 min, depending on the service.

Valladolid Bus Station and Valladolid Campo Grande railway station are close to each other, about five minutes on foot. From either station, you can continue to Hotel El Montico by La Regional bus or by taxi.

Alternative route: Madrid → Tordesillas by direct bus

There is also a direct bus connection between Madrid and Tordesillas operated by MonBus. This option may be useful if the timetable fits your flight arrival time, but there are fewer daily services than on the Madrid–Valladolid route.

In Madrid, buses may depart from Estación Sur de Autobuses or from Moncloa, depending on the service. Please check the departure station carefully when buying your ticket.

Once you arrive at Tordesillas Bus Station, you can continue to Hotel El Montico by taxi or, when available, by the Valladolid–Tordesillas local bus line stopping at El Montico.

4. From Tordesillas to Hotel El Montico

Hotel El Montico is about 5.8 km from Tordesillas Bus Station. The ride by taxi takes around 7 minutes and costs approximately 10 EUR.

Some Valladolid–Tordesillas buses also stop at El Montico. The travel time between Tordesillas and El Montico is around 6–9 minutes. This can be useful for participants staying in Tordesillas who wish to reach the hotel during the conference.

5. Practical recommendation

If you are arriving internationally, the most flexible route is usually:

Madrid Airport → Valladolid → Hotel El Montico

This route gives you more options because Madrid and Valladolid are connected by frequent trains and buses. The direct Madrid–Tordesillas bus is useful when the timetable works well, but it offers fewer daily services and may complicate connections with flights.
